Come to the Waitangi Day commemorations at Taumanuka (aka the old Health Camp), at Ōtaki Beach. Run by Ngā Hapū o Ōtaki in partnership with the Kāpiti Coast District Council, it’ll be a day full of interesting activities for all the whānau! We were part of the very successful Kāpiti Heritage Clue Hunt again this year. We had 155 visitors over three days, with people coming from all over Kāpiti and some from further afield. Summer visitors at the Ōtaki Beach skating rink, 1950s Online exhibits are a new feature of our website, with photos from our collection showing aspects of the rich history of Ōtaki. They include life at the beach, sport, market gardening, health facilities and hotels.
