2 Interesting Events Planned for October

Two interesting events are planned for October – both are free and everyone is welcome.

We hope you can join us.

Heritage session: Wednesday 9 October, 1 pm

Historian Dr Jock Phillips will speak on the topic: 'Why were there so many memorials to

Māori in colonial NZ?' He has published 16 books on New Zealand history, including two

about memorials. He is also patron of the Friends of Ōtaki Rotunda.

This is one of a series of informal discussions being held at the museum this year.

Author event: Wednesday 16 October, 5.30 pm

The book Leslie Adkin Farmer Photographer was recently written by Athol McCredie and

published by Te Papa Press. He will speak, along with Anthony Dreaver (who wrote a book

about Adkin in 1997 and also edited the Ōtaki Historical Journal for many years).

This event is being run by Books & Co and hosted by Ōtaki Heritage.
